TWIST-AND-SMASHD-SPORTS, NYC-ASTORIA, LONG-ISLAND-CITY-BAR, STEINWAY, NYC, FRIES-OF-NEW-YORK, NY-TIMESOn November 6-8, 2014, Sir Kensington’s, a New York-based condiments company, will host the fry in its many forms and iconic iterations with “Fries of New York”, a food culture exhibition celebrating ketchup’s potato-based companion. Over one hundred of New York City restaurants fries are on display for the inquiring public, Twist and Smash’d being one of them!

According to Sir Kensington’s release, this “uncommon exhibit” focus on french fries are at once ubiquitous and personal; each chef has their own preparation, ranging from the thickest wedges to the thinnest shoestrings.

Twist and Smash’d is one of the many unique fry specimens of the top New York City restaurants to be on display during the exhibit. Each fry will be presented with care and attention to ensure it remains appetizing, as if fresh from the fryer. Sir Kensington’s has chosen an archiving process which delicately eliminates moisture from the fry before applying a nearly imperceptible layer of resin.

As the last decade has seen American cuisine experience a renaissance, spawning diversity and innovation for both fries and their accompanying condiments, the exhibition will additionally explore the history and evolution of the fry and other related curiosities and ephemera.

“Fries of New York” will be open to the public November 7th and 8th, 2014 from 11am to 8pm.

Sir Kensington’s also invites the public to submit remarkable fries to a digital archive in conjunction with the exhibition. By tagging fry photos #classifry and @sirkensingtons on social media, food lovers worldwide may participate in the survey. More at: http://fries.sirkensingtons.com

ABOUT TWIST AND SMASH’D

Twist and Smashd and Twist and Smashd Sports was created by chef Robert Cano and his daughters while on a family vacation to Ecuador in 2010. In Ecuador the family found a small café that sold twisted potatoes. Enchanted by this idea of a potato on a stick, they brought it back to New York and Twist and Smashd was born. Twist and Smashd is owned by Cano Ventures Corp, a sister Corporation to Rcano Group which owns and operates Rcano Events. Robert Cano is the president of RCano Events off premise catering company. He is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, which means he knows (and loves) food and has led the field in incorporating organic, seasonal, and locally grown ingredients.
